A Bit of History
Riad Inaya, located in one of the oldest parts of the medina, is a house that breathes authenticity. Restored with passion, every corner of the house tells a story. From the moment you arrive, you will be welcomed by two magnificent illuminated doors, renovated by local artisans. The main door, majestic, now serves its original function between the entrance hall and a more discreet room, while the second, characteristic of Moroccan double doors, has been restored to become a brilliant decorative element.
Craftsmanship at the Heart of Our Riad
At Riad Inaya, every element has been carefully restored by local artisans, highlighting traditional craftsmanship and Moroccan authenticity.
The Multicolored Zellige Fountain
Our riad is distinguished by a magnificent multicolored zellige fountain, created by a master Fassi artisan. Built entirely by hand, it is a unique and remarkable piece that enhances our entrance with its traditional motifs and vibrant colors.
The Souvenir Display
Located in an alcove of the patio, our souvenir showcase offers beautiful traditional silver jewelry, along with original and easily portable items. Perfect for our guests who wish to bring back an authentic gift from Fez, without getting lost in the winding alleys of the medina.
Traditional Woodwork
When we arrived, the ancient woodwork of the house was unrecognizable. After several months of restoration, the windows, doors, mashrabiya, and half-moons have regained their former glory, adorned with hand-painted Iraqi glass.
Iraqi Glass
Similarly, no colored Iraqi glass remained on the woodwork. We had them all remade, and we find the result truly remarkable. Iraqi glass is a precious tradition in ancient Arab houses.

House Rules
Our house is a true guest house where we also live. It is not a hotel with rotating day and night shifts. Marjorie and I, Pascal, will handle your welcome, your installation in your rooms, and ensure that your stay is as pleasant as possible. To ensure everything runs smoothly, we kindly ask you to take note of the following points:
- Late-night arrivals are not accepted: check-in is between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM maximum to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests.
- Credit card payments are not accepted. Balances are to be paid in cash or via the PayPal or Wise apps.
- Air conditioning or heating must be turned off when you are out.
- Breakfast is served from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Dinner is served from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
- Evening meals must be ordered in the morning. The price is 250 MAD per person.
- For hygiene reasons, eating in the rooms is not permitted.
- For ecological reasons, towels are changed every 3 days.
- Smoking is prohibited in the rooms, and smoking hashish is strictly forbidden everywhere.
- To respect the peace and quiet of the riad, access doors to the terraces close at 10:30 PM.
- We also ask that you avoid making phone calls in the rooms after 10:30 PM.
- A key box will allow you to enter the house independently. We will explain how it works to you.
Let’s not get upset!
We believe it is helpful to inform you of several points that could lead to negative reviews, even though we are not responsible for them:- We are not responsible for the weather, nor for rain, heat, or the lack of sunshine.
- Calls to prayer take place 5 times a day. We cannot prevent them...
- The house is quite tall. Two Wi-Fi routers supply it. When several guests are connected at the same time, it may slightly slow down the connection.
- Rooms with a view are located on the top floor of the house. There are therefore stairs to climb. Please take note of this before booking them.
- We are not responsible for the quality of tour guides or the attitude of certain merchants. You are never under any obligation to buy.
- We are not responsible for what you eat outside. You must be vigilant and avoid drinking or eating in the street. There are many excellent restaurants in the medina.
- We will be happy to advise you to the best of our knowledge and experience. However, please note that we are not tour guides.

Pascal and Marjorie made Riad Inaya feel like a home away from home for us. From the moment we arrived, their hospitality was attentive and genuine, and we quickly felt at ease. They were always on hand with helpful recommendations for the medina, generous with their time, and easy to talk to. The riad itself reflects the same care. The renovation has been done with real style — from the zellige fountain in the courtyard to the mix of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary, elegant touches throughout, every detail feels considered and well balanced. The result is a space that is both authentically Moroccan and quietly sophisticated. And then there is the terrace. The view over the medina is genuinely impressive — a thousand-year-old city stretching out beneath you, with the call to prayer echoing across the rooftops at sunset and the mountains in the distance. We had dinner up there one evening as the sun went down, and we really enjoyed the meal with that view as a backdrop. We left glad to have found this place, and grateful to have met its hosts. We had an outstanding stay at this Riad and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Prime Location and Views The Riad is perfectly situated near a main gate, which facilitates seamless arrivals and transfers. The rooftop offers a spectacular panoramic view that is, in itself, a reason to book a stay here. Accommodations Our room was excellent—spacious, well-appointed with a large bed, and equipped with effective air conditioning that ensured a comfortable environment throughout our stay. Hospitality The hosts are truly exceptional. Their commitment to high-quality customer service creates a welcoming atmosphere where you feel more like a guest of friends than a typical patron. Laundry Services For those on an extended itinerary, the Riad’s laundry service is a significant convenience. It is professionally managed and very affordably priced, allowing you to maximize your travel time rather than managing chores. 6/5 stars. This place is the best of all our Moroccan stays (5 so far). It’s an amazing refuge in a crazy city and so close to one of Babs (easier when you arrive). Any lover of history will love what they have done with the place - not only is it clean and stunning but rich with history. From the welcome when you arrive, to the room, to breakfast and the help understanding the Medina, Pascal and Marjorie (and all their staff) are extraordinary. The only downside is we have 3 more stops and cities to visit and worry that there won’t be an equivalent. Thank you and we hope to return.
